Announces Appointment of Newly Elected Board Officers
ASA-CCC is pleased to announce that last night Thursday July 10, 2008, we announced the appointment of Ana Bustos-Ponce as President, Jennifer Eachus as Vice President, Raul Ponce Jr. as Treasurer, and Ken Larrey as Secretary. Congratulations to our new ASA-CCC Board Officers!
ASA-CCC would like to thank and commend our past board members Susan Neufer, President, Walt Shubin, Vice President, Alan Neufer , Treasurer, and Ana Bustos-Ponce Secretary for their commitment in carrying out the mission of ASA-CCC during this past year. Your commitment and dedication to individuals with ASD and their families is to be commended.
ASA-CCC would like to make a special invitation to please join us and your newly appointed Officers during a Special Board Meeting on Thursday, July 17, 2008 @ 6:00 p.m. at Toledo’s Restaurant 367 E. Parents with autistic children will find a number of helpful resources and tools here. In addition to diagnosis and treatment information, there is a handy table of links for adults with disabilities. The site also includes an index by state of K-12 schools for children with learning disabilities (no information is provided for some states, unfortunately,) guides to special education and Social Security benefits and a library of articles about autism. The homepage is a little overcrowded, making it difficult to focus.
Autism Society of America
If you suspect that your child is autistic, you can visit this site to read a basic description of the disorder, find out what causes it and learn how it’s diagnosed and treated. Especially helpful is the Getting Started section, which includes a reading list, provides definitions of relevant terms and debunks myths about autism. Plus, you can access a variety of information packages under Information and find out more about the Autism Society’s efforts.
