ADOLESCENT AUTISM
STUDY
The Stanford Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory is looking for persons with High Functioning Autism to participate in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study. The goal of our project is to shed light upon differences in brain functioning in Autism and other pervasive developmental disorders. Participants will receive psychological testing, including IQ and diagnostic testing. Participants will then perform a number of learning tasks while having images of brain function obtained with an MRI machine. The scans will last approximately 90 - 120 minutes, broken into 10 - 15 minute blocks. Participants and their families will be reimbursed for their participation in the study.
Eligibility criteria:
+ Males between ages 10 and 18 with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism
+ Measured IQ greater than 70
+ No known diagnosed genetic disorder, such as fragile X syndrome or tuberous sclerosis
+ Ability to follow verbal directions and participate in psychological testing
+ Ability to remain physically still for duration of a 10 min. MRI scan.
+ No braces or metallic ear tubes.

+ Reimbursement for their participation.
+ Pictures of the participant's brain!
