Dear Autism Society of America Representative:
The Living Sensibly Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to "Promoting Better Health Through Dietary Intervention." We are in the process of finalizing the Your Life publication featuring autism. This publication will emphasize the benefits of a gluten-free, casein-free (GF/CF) diet and how it can make a significant, positive difference in the lives of children with autism and related developmental disorders. It will feature the article We Rescued Our Child From Autism by Karyn Seroussi and What's for Dinner?, an Autism-Asperger's Digest article written by Lisa Lewis, Ph.D. that provides more insight on how to start a gluten-free, casein-free diet. The last page of the brochure will contain a listing of valuable resource contacts and sponsors, including the Autism Society of America.
The publication describes the autism/gastrointestinal/dietary connections and how parents can use this information to help their children with autism. There will be 50,000 copies made on the first printing and distributed to families with children with autism. As part of this distribution, we would like to provide these brochures to Autism Society of America chapter representatives so that they may be made available to local members.
Although many parents have heard of and seen the positive impact of the GF/CF diet in the lives of other children with autism, most have not successfully implemented the diet. Many parents have not implemented a GF/CF diet because it looks so daunting: "Sounds difficult and, besides, I wouldn't know where or how to begin." What they will get in this publication is a simple, effective "Special Diets 101" place to start. Many of the parents who receive this publication will be sufficiently encouraged by what they read (the articles are written by respected parents of children with autism) to conclude, "It can't hurt, and it might help. Let's try it!"
I will be calling soon to answer any questions you may have and make arrangements for your chapter to receive copies of the publication. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 877-668-6455 or at glenn@livingsensibly.org
Thank you.
Sincerely,
